Due to continuous torrential rains in Jharkhand, Niranjana river are in spate. There has been an unexpected increase in the water level of these rivers, due to which water has spread in many villages of Bodhgaya block area. The movement of villagers has been blocked. Water is flowing over the road in Ghugharia and Bataspur of Basadhi Panchayat. Not only this, about a hundred Mahadalit families used to live in the Tola on the sand in Ghugharia, whose families were affected due to this situation. The house has been washed away in the flood.

The villager told that along with our house our cattle were also washed away. There has also been a shortage of ration and utensils. that we are surrounded by flood water from all sides and small children and women are facing a lot of problems. They said that due to the dam built in Silonj, water reaches our homes. Apart from this, arrangements should be made for an easy way for us to travel. The villagers of Mahadalit group said that we demand from the government that all of us should be given the benefits of housing scheme.

The paddy crops and vegetable fields planted by the farmers have also been completely submerged. The farmers said that they had somehow collected capital and planted the paddy crop, which was completely destroyed by being submerged in water. The farmers have demanded appropriate compensation from the government.
