USA: High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Arrest of 14-Year-Old Smuggler in Webb County

On August 30, a dramatic pursuit unfolded on Interstate 35 in Webb County, Texas, as DPS Troopers apprehended a 14-year-old illegal immigrant smuggler. Driving a white GMC Acadia, the young smuggler from Mexico accelerated away from authorities, disregarding traffic signals and eventually losing control after colliding with a curb, which disabled a front tire.
DPS Troopers swiftly intervened, executing a PIT maneuver that forced the vehicle off the road and into thick brush. The intense situation escalated when the vehicle caught fire, prompting an urgent evacuation of seven illegal immigrants also from Mexico who were passengers in the car.
Amidst the chaos, the young driver was apprehended and now faces charges of evading arrest and smuggling of persons. The seven individuals rescued from the vehicle were subsequently referred to Border Patrol for processing.
