Lebanon: Lebanon stages "Day of Rage" in support of Hamas, Hezbollah
Sidon, Lebanon - August 02, 2024
Storyline:
The "Day of Rage" was marked by hundreds in the Lebanese city of Sidon on Friday to protest over the killings of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran and Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut this week.
The vigil on Friday coincided with Haniyeh's funeral in Doha.
Hezbollah and Tehran have vowed to respond for the killing of the leaders but the timing and method remain unclear until a real opportunity presents itself, according to Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah.
Hamas and Hezbollah's officials vowed that Haniyeh's killing would not deter Palestinians, but rather strengthen their resolve.
Resistance Scholars vowed to continue the fight, stating the axis of resistance will only grow stronger.
Experts said that the killing of Shukr and Haniyeh undermines all efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza, which they believe, is the only solution to stop the escalation in the region, which is rising to unprecedented levels.
