STORYLINE:
The newly established Nuclear Medicine Department at San Pietro Hospital in Rome installed the world's first Total-body PET/CT system uEXPLORER developed by Shanghai United Imaging Healthcare (UIH) corporation, a Chinese medical equipment company.
With uEXPLORER, a single scan can cover the whole body and take live 4D images.
The cutting-edge system enables ultra-low patient dose while producing ultra-high image resolution.
SOUNDBITE (Chinese): XIA JUSONG, President of International Business at United Imaging Healthcare (UIH) corporation
"uEXPLORER is a revolutionary breakthrough in the field of nuclear medicine. Conventional PET/CT systems typically have an axial length between 15 and 30 centimeters. This is the first time in the industry that a PET/CT system with an axial length of two meters was introduced. Unlike other equipment, which requires multiple examinations, the uEXPLORER allows the entire body to be scanned in a single examination."
