Sign collapses onto cars and pedestrians during storm in India
An advertising hoarding collapsed onto pedestrians when it was struck by lightning during a storm in India this morning.
CCTV shows the bolt striking the billboard before it topples over onto three parked cars in the
Sahajanand Chowk district of Kalyan in Thane, Maharashtra state.
Officials said there were no injuries from the incident at around 10:30am local time.
Local council chief Sachin Shejal said that the hoarding fell without warning, causing panic among those nearby.
He said a team had been sent to secure the area.
It came as the Indian Meteorological Department forecast mild to moderate rainfall across the region over the next 24 hours.
