Los Angeles, United States - August 03, 2024

08/03/2024 12:14 am (GMT-0700) | WESTLAKE, LOS ANGELES – LAFD responded to reports of a structure fire on the 1300 block of West 6th Street.

When crews arrived on scene, they located heavy fire showing from a one-story, 5,500 square foot building. The century old, vacant building is the former home of the original Pacific Dining Car restaurant, according to Brian Humphrey, spokesperson for the LAFD.

Humphrey reported it was an outside fire that had extended into and heavily involved the building.

LAFD crews were in largely defensive operations as they battled to extinguish the flames.

Knockdown was achieved at 1:13 a.m. with 75 firefighters at the scene, according to the LAFD. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under active investigation.
