STORYLINE:

The Israeli military continued its aggression against civilians in Lebanon, raiding the border town of Chamaa and killing four Syrian members of a family living there, according to media reports.

Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) said the victims included a mother and her three children.

Additionally, two Lebanese residents of the town were injured in the attack.

"All we heard was the sound of aircraft raiding the town. The house next to ours was blown away, and all the family members living there were killed. We removed their torn bodies from the fields next to the demolished house.
Today, we came to collect some of our belongings and find a safer place to stay. We will bury the dead today, with the people of Chamaa collectively covering the costs. Thank God, my family and children were not hit. We moved them to the seashore yesterday."

Tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border escalated on Oct. 8, 2023, when Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets at Israel in solidarity with Hamas's attack on Israel the previous day. In response, Israel fired heavy artillery into southeastern Lebanon.
