Tanzania: Chinese, Tanzanian troops conduct joint tactical drills

Storyline:
Chinese and Tanzanian troops have conducted a joint tactical training as part of the "Peace Unity - 2024" joint military drills launched by China, Tanzania and Mozambique.

At the Chinese-built Comprehensive Training Center (CTC) in Mapinga, Dar-es-Salaam, the special force units from both sides collaborated with each other to execute a simulated assault operation. The commandos from both sides maintained close communication throughout the operation to address the problems they encountered, including the adoption of tactics and coordination methods.

In another training carried out by the synthetic infantry units on both sides, Chinese and Tanzanian troops implemented a series of tactical operations including pre-operation preparations, assaulting and seizing enemy territories, shifting of combat tactics.

Since Friday, the joint tactical exercises between the two sides have been fully played out with the participation of assault, special force and fire support units from different arms of services such as infantry, scouts and artillery.

As planned, the Chinese and Tanzanian ground force units will also hold three joint exercises, including one live-fire exercise.

Running from late July to mid-August, and focusing on joint counter-terrorism military operations, the "Peace Unity - 2024" joint military drill is being conducted both on land and at sea. The joint exercise aims to enhance the capabilities of the participating troops in joint counter-terrorism operations and to deepen military mutual trust and practical cooperation. It will also be conducive for the three countries to jointly preserve regional peace and stability, according to Senior Colonel Zhang Xiaogang, spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense.
