Paris, France - August 04, 2024

Storyline:
Led by four Olympic champions, China's weightlifting team arrived in Paris on Sunday at midnight.

The team landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport at 17:51 Paris time (23:51 Beijing time), where weightlifting fans and Chinese supporters had already gathered to welcome the delegation.

Despite the long journey, the athletes are in good condition.

Unlike previous Olympic Games, the weightlifting competition at the Paris Olympics is scheduled for the second half, from August 7 to 11. The Chinese team consists of six athlets with four of them -- Olympic gold medalists Li Fabin, Hou Zhihui, and Shi Zhiyong, and 2023 World Weightlifting Championships winner Luo Shifang -- now in Paris.

The remaining two, 2020 Olympic champion Li Wenwen and 2023 World Championships winner Liu Huanhua, who will compete later, are set to reach Paris on August 6.

To guarantee adequate rest, the team left for the Olympic Village soon.

After the International Weightlifting Federation officially announced the new weight classes in 2022, Chinese athletes have been adjusting to the new rules, and are now ready to fight for the best.
