USA: Diamond Bar Driver Trapped in Mangled Vehicle Survives Violent Crash

08/04/2024 04:10 am (GMT-0700) | DIAMOND BAR, Calif. – CHP and LACoFD received multiple 911 calls of a traffic collision with one person trapped and a semi on fire westbound 60 Freeway at the 57 Freeway interchange in the city of Diamond Bar. Once firefighters and officers arrived on the scene, they located a four-door vehicle with the driver trapped and the engine in the carpool lane on the westbound 60 at the 57 Freeway. Firefighters were able to extricate the driver from the vehicle and transport the patient to a local hospital with minor injuries. A UPS semi driver, along with other vehicles, had struck debris in lanes after the car crashed. CHP has issued a Sig Alert for about 30 minutes for all lanes of the westbound 60 Freeway as they attempted to move the engine from the carpool lane.
