Cape Town, South Africa - August 02, 2024

A visiting high-level delegation from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) met with members of the local media and representatives of think tanks in Cape Town, South Africa on Friday to discuss China's reform policies and their impact on Africa.

Led by Liu Jianchao, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, the delegation also discussed with African attendees the upcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit that will be held in Beijing in September.

Liu unveiled plans to bolster the Chinese economy and deepen ties with Africa, building on the already strong relations China has with countries across the continent.

With the FOCAC summit on the horizon, expectations have been high for increased cooperation between China and Africa.

Local experts are optimistic about China-Africa partnership, particularly in renewable energy.

Liu said that China's cooperation with Africa and its support to the continent will be extended to more emerging industries.

The dialogue in Cape Town has set the stage for promising partnerships, anticipating further promising discussions at the FOCAC summit that could shape the future of China-Africa relations.
