Two elderly villagers rescued a deaf-mute woman from drowning in a pond in southern China.

CCTV footage filmed in Changde City in Hunan Province on August 2, shows a deaf-mute woman suddenly falling into a pond while washing peanuts.

Despite her inability to speak, she desperately shouted for help. Fortunately, the distressing cries were heard by nearby villagers, prompting an immediate response.

Two brave septuagenarians showed no fear in the face of the emergency. They grabbed a life-saving bamboo pole, already prepared for such situations, and successfully pulled the woman to safety after over a minute of intense effort.

Thanks to their prompt and courageous actions, the woman is now reported to be in stable condition.
