Two actors reportedly recreating an epic historical battle on horseback suffered injuries when they accidentally fell off their saddles in front of a shocked audience.

The performance featuring two horse riders reportedly took place at Qingming Riverside Park in Kaifeng, in Henan, China, on July 22.

During the act, which involved performers wielding long spears while riding horses, an unexpected incident occurred.

One of the horses suddenly fell, causing the rider to fall off and the other horse to trip, which threw down the second actor.

The actors were trampled by their animals as they lay motionless on the ground.

Fellow actors, dressed in ancient Chinese costumes, rushed out to check on them while their horses scattered seemingly unarmed.

A viewer at the scene who recorded the event later said the first performer who fell was able to move after landing in the dirt, while the second performer remained motionless.

Emergency services arrived promptly, and an ambulance transported the second performer away for medical attention.

Following the incident, the KaifengCulture and Tourism Bureau announced that the performance would be suspended and tourists were moved from the area.

The injured performers both received treatment at a hospital, and reports indicated that both sustained only minor injuries without serious complications.
