This is the dramatic moment a Chinese hotel becomes a towering inferno when a huge sign on the roof catches fire, dropping flames down the side of the building and onto the ground below.

The huge fire reportedly broke out at a high-rise hotel in the city of Changsha, in China's Hunan Province, on July 28.

The hotel's rooftop billboard reportedly caught fire, sending sparks and flaming debris to the ground, raising concerns among nearby pedestrians as well as fears that flames could spread from the bottom up.

Fire trucks quickly arrived at the scene to address the incident and no casualties were reported as the blaze was brought under control.

Staff from the local street office confirmed that the fire was contained and extinguished later that night.

Investigations revealed that the fire was caused by a short circuit in the hotel sign.

The rapid response of the fire department played a crucial role in preventing any potential injuries or fatalities.
