Girl dies from participating rock climbing activity in mall
A six-year-old girl died when she fell from a rock climbing wall inside a shopping mall in China.
The child, participating in the extreme sports activity without proper safety gear, plunged to her death in Sihui, Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province, on July 30.
CCTV footage shows the girl clambering up the 36-foot rock wall. Moments later, a loud bang was heard as she hit the ground, which didn't have a safety cushion.
A medical team arrived at the mall and encountered a pool of blood.
The mother can be seen crying while officials transfer the unconscious body of the victim.
Despite extensive medical treatment, the girl later died in the hospital.
According to the investigation, it was found that the establishment lacked safety ropes.
