A tourist who plunged 100ft down a hillside while she was taking a selfie was rescued by onlookers.

Nasreen, 29, trekked the hill near Thoseghar Waterfalls with friends but while taking pictures on the muddy path, she slipped and tumbled down slope in Maharashtra on August 3.

Her friends called for help, and locals quickly conducted a DIY rescue operation. One brave volunteer climbed down the cliff to pull her with a rope.

Footage shows Nasreen in distress, as she cried and screamed in pain while the volunteer helped guide her to safe grounds.

The Coast Guard and local rescue teams later arrived to assist the residents help save the woman.

Nasreen was taken to a hospital and was recovering from her injuries.

It was not the first time a tourist had plunged down dangerous mountain terrains in India.

Last month, Aanvi Kamdar, 26, an Indian travel influencer, fell into a gorge in the same region and died when she slipped 300ft below.
