Cape Canaveral, USA - August 04, 2024

After a weather-related delay on Saturday, SpaceX made a successful attempt to launch the NG-21 mission from Cape Canaveral on Sunday.

Weather conditions had been a significant concern, especially with Tropical Storm Debby forming and moving toward the Gulf of Mexico. However, as the scheduled launch time of 11:02 a.m. EDT approached, conditions improved and were deemed favorable ("green") for launch.

The NG-21 mission, also known as Northrop Grumman-21, lifted off precisely at 11:02 a.m. EDT from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral. This launch site is situated south of the Kennedy Space Center. Unlike traditional satellite launches, the Cygnus spacecraft aboard the mission has a limited launch window due to its mission to rendezvous with the International Space Station (ISS), which orbits the Earth at approximately 17,500 mph.
