Chinese enterprises ride wave of Olympic economic boom

Besides their athletes, Chinese products, from beanbag chairs to noisemakers, are on display at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

This beanbag chair from a company in east China's Zhejiang Province is part of the furnishings in the athletes' apartments in the Olympic Village.

It's made from waterproof and fire-resistant materials and is eco-friendly.

"Using recycled foam scraps as the sofa fillings, we can reduce waste and pollution, which is in line with the sustainability principles of the Olympics," he added.

Other made-in China items that you'll see at the Olympics this year include merchandise, sports gear, and souvenirs.

At the world's largest small commodities hub, Yiwu City also in China's Zhejiang Province, buyers from all over the world visit to purchase some of the more than 2.1 million products.

Buyer from Chile:

"Almost all buyers from South America come to Yiwu to make purchases. They can find whatever they need here. It's very convenient."

In the first half of this year, Zhejiang Province exported more than two billion U.S. dollars-worth of sports products, 34 million dollars of which were exported to France.
