Tenant finds out rental home was scene of horrific murder while watching true crime video
A true crime fan was horrified to discover that the flat he had been living in for a decade was at the scene of a grisly murder.
Even worse, Mr Xingxinzhe living in China, only recognised it because most of the furniture including the pillows used to cover up the dead body were exactly the same.
The shocking discovery for the man came after he looked at a video by a blogger specialising in true crime stories about a horrific murder that took place in the city of Jilin, in Jilin Province in 2014.
A woman who had been showing the home to potential renters on behalf of friends vanished, and her body was later discovered inside the property hidden under a red pillow with a particular design on it that could be seen in the crime video.
Police identified the suspects using shredded paper from a rental agreement found in the toilet and also by using lift surveillance footage.
Mr Xingxinzhe was horrified and posted a note underneath the video saying that he lived in the flat with his brother, and they had not been warned about the expensive apartment's dark past.
They even posted a video on July 22 to prove that it was the same place, where even the fridge seen in the crime video and the red sofa cushions used to cover the body were the same.
The particularly annoying part was that despite the property's history, the two brothers said that they had not been warned and when they tried to contact the owner, they found they were unavailable.
The pair have now moved out of the apartment.
