This is the bizarre moment a 13-year-old pedestrian is knocked senseless when she is hit by a zebra crossing sign that was itself just knocked down by a truck.

Street CCTV footage recorded in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on 4th August, shows a truck waiting to turn out of a junction on a busy road.

But as it sets off it clips a crossing sign attached to a lamppost which tumbles into the street.

As it falls, the light falls right beside the unsuspecting schoolgirl flattening her under the crossing sign.

Local media reports say she is recovering after being rushed to hospital with concussion and a wound to her forehead.

Neither the driver nor the victim have been named. But police, say reports, are investigating the driver who is said to have 14 previous traffic violations on his licence.
