A man calmly moved away after being woken by a brown bear searching for food in a hotel reception in southwestern China.

CCTV footage filmed in Yanshiping town in Tibet Autonomous Region on August 5, shows a brown bear searching for food in a hotel, rousing a male employee who was napping at the front desk.

As the bear prowled the front desk area, the employee carefully slipped off his bed, ensuring his safety. He then swiftly grabbed his phone and exited the area.

According to witnesses, the bear left on its own after snatching a bag of snacks from the reception desk shelf, without causing any harm to people.

Local residents have grown accustomed to these bears occasionally venturing into urban areas in search of food, often appearing unfazed by human presence.

Wildlife experts caution that, while these bears have not shown aggressive behaviour, it is crucial to avoid contact whenever possible for safety reasons.
