USA: Kern County Hazmat Response Near Earthquake Epicenter

08/06/2024 09:12 pm (GMT-0800) | Kern County: Hazmat Response reported at 31425 Old River rd at 9:12 pm minutes after the earthquake epicenter shook just miles away. There is a possible ammonia leak, according to radio traffic. It seems workers from the cuties plant have evacuated the area and are standing by with fire officials as the hazmat team arrived on scene and investigates.
Confirmed preliminary information from Kern County Fire PIO, Jonathan Drucker. "Smell of ammonia, hazardous materials response team is on scene. Unknown if earthquake related."
