flash floods reach villages in indonesia reaching 2 meters, hundreds of rice fields are inflooded.


as much as 4 villages in 2 districts, in sidenreng rappang regency, south sulawesi, indonesia, were flooded on 7 august 2024.

flooding occurred as a result of the emperors that breaked because they were not strong to withstand the overflowing river water, due to heavy rain since tuesday 6 july last.



this is the condition of the flash flood that attracted sidrap district, south sulawesi, indonesia.

high rainfall since last tuesday made the water of the bila river, in the two pitue district, overover.

the overflow of the river was breaking the empty near the residential settlement.

the break of the empty made 4 villages spread across 2 districts in sidrap district under flood.

the height of the water that soaked residents' houses even reached 2 meters. this condition happened in two villages which were closed to the location of the embedded break.

a number of citizens are also trying to save their valuables from their houses which have been in flood.

"he says that the worst worst is in kampale village, the water discharge has reached more than 2 meters high and settlements and community facilities are sucked," h. sudirman said

apart from submerging residential areas, floods also submerged hundreds of hectares of rice fields and agricultural land belonging to residents.
