In a heartwarming development amidst the Stone Canyon Fire, wildlife officials from Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Northeast Region successfully released a rescued marmot back into its natural habitat. The marmot, initially taken to Greenwood Wildlife Rehab Center just before evacuation orders were issued, found a safe haven amid the wildfire crisis.

"We were thrilled to give this marmot a second chance," remarked a CPW spokesperson, emphasizing the importance of wildlife rescue efforts during natural disasters. The release exemplifies CPW's commitment to preserving local wildlife populations despite the challenges posed by ongoing wildfires in the region.
