A bus carrying residents in Indonesia was badly burned.

The bus named Maya Gapura Intan bound for Bogor - Ratu Harbor caught fire on Jalan Raya Cibadak, Sukabumi district, West Java, Indonesia, on Wednesday afternoon, August 7th, 2024.

The rapidly spreading fire caused several passengers' belongings in the bus trunk to catch fire as a result of this incident.

The bus, which was suspected of having a short circuit, emitted thick smoke before the fire burned all parts of the bus.

The bus driver, named Nurohim, admitted that he had an uneasy feeling when the bus suddenly emitted smoke, which at first was thin, then quickly the smoke became thicker. So he stopped his vehicle.

He then rushed to turn off the engine and the AC (air conditioner) to check the condition of the engine. He was also shocked by the fire burning at the bottom of the bus.

"Before going down, I turned off the engine, turned off the AC, I checked downstairs to see if there was a fire. "As soon as there was a fire, the first thing I thought about was that the passengers were quick and alert, I immediately shouted, the passengers immediately got out, now this second, right now," he said.

Not long after, he said, the fire started to grow, accompanied by thick clouds of smoke.

Luckily, as many as 15 passengers on the bus were able to be saved even though several of the passengers' belongings caught fire, due to the rapidly spreading fire.
