USA: North Hollywood Dog Dies in Apartment Unit Fire 2 Transported Including Firefighter

08/07/2024 11:36 pm (GMT-0700) | NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES – One dog was found deceased and two patients, including a firefighter, were transported to a local hospital following a fire within a two-story apartment building late Wednesday night.
LAFD responded to the 6100 block of North Cahuenga Boulevard for a fire in an apartment unit. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire showing in a two-story, garden-style apartment building. Firefighters extinguished flames on both the first and second floors of the building in 22 minutes by 48 firefighters at the scene.
In an update by LAFD spokesperson Margaret Stewart, one 80 lb. dog was found deceased inside the fire unit. A 35-year-old female patient was assessed on scene and declined LAFD transport, and one 28-year-old male patient was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening burn injury. Additionally, one firefighter was transported with isolated, non-life-threatening burn injury.
