Drunk falls asleep on train tracks and somehow avoids injury
Police footage shows a drunk person jolted awake after falling asleep on train tracks in India and somehow managing to remain uninjured.
A train driver alerted the police at 3:30 am on Thursday that someone may have been hit at the Adampur railway crossing in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh.
When the authorities arrived, they found the man, later identified as Nepali Amar Bahadur, lying in the middle of the railroad track, seemingly oblivious to the danger of his location.
To the police's surprise, Bahadur was found alive and unharmed. They then escorted him off the train tracks.
Police Commander and Rescue Team Leader Uday Pratap later confirmed that Bahadur was intoxicated when he fell asleep on the rails and that he was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
Another law enforcement operation in the Mau district led to a violent confrontation between the police and a troublemaker.
The encounter occurred in Raini Village, Pardaha block, around 4:30 am. The suspect, identified as Aftab, was taken into custody and is currently receiving medical treatment for wounds to both legs.
Aftab had a bounty of 50,000 INR on his head when he was arrested. The police also recovered a pistol, two live ammunition, two cartridges, and a bike from him.
Additional Superintendent of Police of Mau, Mahesh Singh Attri, told the media that Aftab's apprehension was part of the Mau police's efforts to combat crime.
