SOUNDBITE (English): HUSSAM AL HUSSEINI, Jordanian ambassador to China
"China is a very important country. It's now the second-largest economy and it's playing a very important role in not only the global economy, but in the global politics and everything in the world. And the openness in China means more engagement and more roles and more cooperation and more coordination. And having all these excellent relations that we have between my country Jordan and China will help us have more cooperation venues, more integration with the world economy and with the world issues and affairs. And also we have more contribution from China in many of the challenges that we are facing globally, things like world security and stability, global warming and climate change and many other things.
China is our second-largest trading partner in Jordan and we have a wide variety and areas of cooperation, many different ways in tourism, economy, trade, culture and education and so on.
The most important thing is that we can have more collaboration in areas like science, technology and innovations.
We are now moving into the area of AI and AI is a huge area where a country like my country looks for countries like China with hopes that this kind of cooperation will help us together move to the future and put hand in hand in facing those challenges."
