A bridge collapsed in southwest China. The affected bridge, known locally as the Sanhui New Bridge, partially collapsed, but fortunately, no casualties were reported.

Video filmed in the Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province on 8 August shows the central arch of the bridge cracking and crumbling, sending debris plummeting as dust filled the air.

Authorities had detected cracks in the bridge the day before, prompting temporary traffic control to ensure safety.

The bridge, built in the 1960s and crucial for connecting key roads in the area, is now set for demolition and reconstruction following the collapse, which was attributed to years of neglect.
