USA: Citi Orders NYPD to Arrest 63-Year-Old John Mark Rozendaal for Performing Bach at Its Headquarters During Climate Action
New York, United States - August 09, 2024
Since June 10, climate activists have been protesting Citi for funding fossil fuels. Three weeks ago, Citi obtained an unconstitutional restraining order preventing John Mark and another activist, Alec Connon, from continuing to protest at its headquarters.
Despite Citi’s attempt to suppress the peaceful protest, they returned to Citi today - risking up to 7 years in prison. In response, Citi called the NYPD to arrest John Mark.
As police approached, 14 others, including Alec, surrounded John Mark and were also arrested.
