This is the heartwarming moment a bride and groom received necklaces made of money from his eight sisters as wedding presents.

The eight siblings of the groom, along with their spouses, had a creative idea to give their cash gifts in the form of necklaces during the wedding reception in Shiyan, Hubei, China, on May 15.

Footage shows each sister placing the loop of bills - worth around 20,000 USD - on the newlyweds who were standing on the stage.

It is customary in the country for the newlyweds' closest relatives to either give them Hongbao, traditional Chinese red envelopes with cash, or gold jewellery.

The siblings strung together the banknotes in 16 necklaces, each amounting to CNY 10,000 with a total value of CNY 160,000.
