LAPD is handling the investigation

Earlier tonight at about 815 hours, there was an off duty member, a sworn member of the Beverly Hills Police Department. Again, off duty,(...) he was with a companion.

They came upon what they believed to be a fight in progress.

He stopped his vehicle,(...) he exited his vehicle,(...) and there were two people fighting. One was armed with a pipe, the other was armed with a handgun.

We do not have all the facts at this point, but there was an officer involved shooting that occurred. One of the people that was there that was in possession of the handgun was struck by gunfire and is deceased,(...) that was accounted for. And the police have everybody that was at scene that was involved.(...) There's no outstanding danger to the public at this time.
