Indian people hold tricolor national flags and chanting patriot slogans as they participated in a Tiranga Rally during Har Ghar Tiranga campaign ahead of the 78th Independence Day celebrations in Beawar city of Rajasthan state in India.

After rally, Member of legislative assembly Shankar Singh Rawat, district collector IAS Utsav Kaushal, superintendent of police IPS Narendra Singh, other officials, hundreds of students, government employees and locals take oath of national unity and paid tributes to all heroic individuals and freedom fighters who had made supreme sacrifices for the freedom of the country.

The Government of India has announced the commencement of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga (every home tricolor) campaign, set to run from August 9 to August 15. This initiative aims to strengthen patriotic sentiment among citizens as the country approaches its Independence Day celebrations.

Indian government urged citizens to hoist the tricolour at their homes and click a selfie with the flag and upload it on the HGT portal.

Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was started under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in 2022 and it has grown into a people’s movement. In 2022, the national flag was hoisted at more than 23 crore homes and six crore people uploaded their selfies with the flag on HGT portal. In 2023, over 10 crore selfies were uploaded under the HGT campaign, the Culture Ministry said in a statement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday will lead the nation in commemorating the 78th anniversary of Independence Day from Delhi's Red Fort.
