USA: Northridge Motorcyclist Killed in Hit and Run Crash

08/09/2024 10:04 pm (GMT-0800) | NORTHRIDGE, LOS ANGELES – At approximately 10:04 p.m. Friday, the Los Angeles Police Department and Fire Department responded to a hit-and-run collision near the intersection of Tampa Avenue and Plummer Street involving a vehicle and a motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities found the black motorcycle a significant distance from the victim's location. The suspect's vehicle, which appeared to have become disabled while fleeing, was located on Tampa Avenue near the Northridge Fashion Center.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not immediately detailed, according to an officer at the scene. In response to the incident, LAPD has closed both northbound and southbound lanes of Tampa Avenue, as well as part of Plummer Street west of Tampa.
