STORYLINE:

The Paris Olympic Games, which concluded on Sunday, saw more than 10,000 competitors from over 200 countries and regions compete in 329 different events.
We have hit the streets of Paris to hear about what brought people together and what spirit of sport they have gained from the Olympics.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): JANE FRASER-HOOK, British tourist in Paris
"We're all very competitive about sport. But we've been talking to people along the route and mixing with people from different countries. So yeah, sport is a great way to meet people, to have fun, to experience a new country. It's just brilliant."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): LUCUS BEACHLER, American tourist in Paris
"We bought the tickets probably two years ago, and I'm just inspired by everyone living out their dreams this week. It's been really inspirational to me.

I think the whole aspect of the competition is great, but I like the camaraderie of everyone coming together. The Olympics just bringing everyone in the world together is also very inspiring to me."

SOUNDBITE 3 (English): PAULINE DELCOUR, Belgian tourist in Paris
"It's also fun to see all the people cheering for their countries. It's also nice to see all the Belgians who are also here for the same reason and to unite together and support our Belgian team."

SOUNDBITE 4 (English): FRANCESCA FRASER-HOOK, British tourist in Paris
"Everyone is just here to have a good time. Everyone is here for the same reason. So you just have a feeling of mass, like happiness and joy to just be a part of something bigger.

It's just nice to see the different supporters from all over the world and experience the different cultures in that."

SOUNDBITE 5 (English): ERIC HUANG, Volunteer
"I think that in sport, the most satisfying would be, when you surpass yourself, and after that, also the competition side, like trying to be the best and trying to beat the opponents."

SOUNDBITE 6 (Chinese): WANG ZHENYUE, Volunteer
"When you sweat during exercise or feel your muscles growing stronger through training, you will feel you're the master of your own body. You realize that you have the capability to build yourself into a better person, who you've set your mind to be."
