Woburn, United Kingdom - August 12, 2024

On the occasion of World Elephant Day, Woburn Safari Park's dedicated keepers orchestrated a special sugar cane feast for three female Asian elephants: Tarli, Chandrika, and Damini. The event, held on August 12th, aimed to enrich the elephants' lives with a taste of their natural behavior.

Using a specially designed feeding tool, keepers presented the elephants with delectable sugar cane, prompting them to engage their agile trunks in a search for food, mimicking behaviors observed in the wild.

The elephants enthusiastically embraced the enrichment activity, visibly relishing each bite of the sugary treat, accompanied by joyful trumpeting sounds echoing across the park. This initiative not only celebrated the majestic creatures but also highlighted the park's commitment to their well-being and conservation.
