Paris, France - August 12, 2024

China Media Group's (CMG) 8K ultra-high-definition (UHD) broadcast vans departed from Paris on Monday, six hours after the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The CMG broadcast vans were officially put into use at the Stade de France (Stadium of France) in Paris on July 25 to cover the Games.

This marked the second occasion where CMG's "Chinese red" broadcast vans provided technical support for the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) internationally, following the Tokyo Games.

It also marked the first-ever 8K broadcast of the Summer Olympic Games and included the inaugural 8K live broadcast of track and field events and the closing ceremony in Olympic history.

Stationed at the Stade de France for 27 days, the vans produced over 60 hours of 8K international public signals of the track and field events and the closing ceremony for global audiences.

During the Games, media counterparts from all over the world visited the CMG broadcast team on the vans for exchange almost every day.

International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach, the French National Olympic and Sports Committee President David Lappartient, Paris 2024 Organizing Committee President Tony Estanguet, fully recognized the outstanding achievements of the 8K broadcasting technology of the CMG at the Paris Olympic Games.
