USA: Gold Ranch Fire Rages Uncontained in Verdi, Evacuations Persist
Verdi, United States - August 12, 2024
Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue provided an update on the ongoing Gold Ranch Fire, formerly known as the Quilicy Fire, in Verdi. As of the latest report, the fire has spread across approximately 674 acres and remains only 8 percent contained. Evacuation orders remain in place as firefighters continue their efforts to gain control over the blaze.
Overnight, fire crews have diligently worked to manage the fire, which currently lacks any significant containment. Air suppression operations are set to resume this morning in anticipation of forecasted winds, which could exacerbate the situation.
"We are grateful for the steadfast support of all fire and law enforcement departments assisting us in tackling this fire," remarked Incident Command from Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue.
