Gaza Strip: Fleeing residents in Khan Younis left uncertain of where to sleep
Khan Younis, Gaza Strip - Recent
Residents of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip said they are carrying whatever they can to unknown destinations following mass evacuation orders in multiple parts of the city.
Following an evacuation order, thousands of residents in the city's Hamad residential area began hurriedly dismantling their worn-out tents and packing their few belongings. Some of them only narrowly managed to escape the Israeli bombing campaign.
Mahmoud Ahmed, the head of a family of ten, arrived in the Hamad neighborhood two weeks ago after being displaced from the eastern Khan Younis area. He said that he and his family have once again been made homeless.
The city's Hamad area currently being evacuated is the largest residential area housing displaced people in Khan Younis. This means more than 100,000 people have been forced to leave, just two weeks after previous evacuation orders were issued for the eastern part of the city.
