This is the startling moment a snake interrupted a late-night dog walk in eastern China.

Footage shows the Tibetan Mastiff, named Ba Wang, which means King, and his owner strolling around 10 pm in Danyang, Jiangsu, on August 3.

The owner, using a flashlight due to the low light, suddenly illuminated the snake on the path ahead.

The sight of the snake caused immediate panic, prompting the owner to retreat while hurriedly pulling the pet along.

Ironically, Ba Wang, who was about to relieve himself, was caught off guard by the abrupt tug and ran away confused.

The owner later humorously noted that Ba Wang, typically not a timid canine, was startled mid-squat by this surprising and forceful interruption.
