Quick-thinking Chinese boy extinguishes fire after hairdryer hidden under blanket ignites bed
A quick-thinking boy extinguished a fire after a hairdryer hidden under his blanket ignited his bed in eastern China.
The video was filmed in Wenzhou City in Zhejiang Province on August 12.
A hairdryer hidden under the boy's blanket suddenly burst into flames, igniting his mattress while he was asleep. Despite the terrifying situation, the quick-thinking child managed to put out the fire by taking the correct actions.
According to the boy's mother, the incident occurred after he accidentally spilt water on his bed earlier that day. To dry the mattress, he used a hairdryer.
Later, feeling a bit chilly, he placed the hairdryer under the blanket to warm up his bed. Unfortunately, this decision led to the hairdryer overheating and setting the bed on fire.
Upon noticing the flames, the boy immediately unplugged the hairdryer, cutting off the source of the fire. He then used a nearby cup to douse the flames with water, effectively preventing the fire from spreading further.
Though shaken and in tears, the brave boy successfully extinguished the fire before it could cause significant damage.
His mother praised his quick thinking, expressing relief that the situation didn’t escalate into something much worse.
