Two pet dogs fight off huge LIONS to protect home in India
Dramatic CCTV footage captured an astonishing clash between two lions and a family's guard dogs - who bravely protected the family home in India.
A big cat is seen in the video bounding over to the iron gate in an apparent attempt to break into the yard of the home in Thoradi Village, Savarkundla, Amreli, Gujarat, on August 11.
But the beast was met by an aggressive pet pooch - just a quarter the size of the predator - which began yapping ferociously.
The male briefly backed away before pawing at the pet dog, which was joined by a second canine as they teamed up to try and scare away the lion.
Shockingly, the lion was joined by another killer cat as it rammed the gate at full force. Despite the threat to their lives, the plucky pet dogs continued fighting to protect their master's home.
The lions eventually fled into nearby bushes while one of the dogs cautiously ventured outside the gate to ensure the danger had passed.
Later, a security guard with a torch emerged outside the gate, appearing confused about what had happened.
Lion attacks on homes in India have become an increasing concern, especially in areas where human settlements encroach upon wildlife habitats.
