Chinese woman on scooter narrowly escapes out-of-control bus crash
A woman on a scooter narrowly escapes an out-of-control bus crash in southern China.
Terrifying CCTV footage filmed in Chongqing on August 13 shows a bus turning a corner before suddenly accelerating uncontrollably. It then crashed into a roadside pole and a white car parked in front of a store.
The vehicle’s chaotic path saw it plough through several trees, knocking over a streetlight before finally coming to a halt after a violent collision with the parked car. The aftermath was a scene of devastation, with the bus's windscreen shattered, tree branches scattered, and the pole leaning precariously.
Remarkably, a quick-thinking woman on an electric scooter narrowly avoided the wreckage, thanks to her sharp reflexes and instinctive response.
Additionally, all passengers aboard the bus escaped without harm. Emergency services, including local police, firefighters, and medical teams, arrived promptly to manage the scene and ensure public safety.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Dianjiang Bus Company and local traffic authorities. Preliminary reports suggest that driver distraction might have been a factor in the bus’s loss of control. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
