A heartfelt retirement celebration was held on August 8th for TSA explosives detection K-9 Baro, who faithfully served at Pittsburgh International Airport under the guidance of handler Lawrence Sharp.

"He's been with me through a lot in these last seven or eight years, thick and thin," remarked Agent Sharp, reflecting on his partnership with Baro. "When I'm sad, he's there. When I'm happy, he's there. We have a bond that you really can't quantify."

Baro and Sharp formed a dynamic team in 2017, collaborating on numerous significant security operations. The dedicated K-9 even boasts his own baseball card, showcasing his career highlights.

"His career stats are impressive," Sharp shared. "We've worked on a lot of major events. He's probably saved thousands of lives, if not hundreds of thousands, in his career. That's why I love him."

Looking ahead, Baro will retire in the comfort of Sharp's home, where he's set to enjoy a well-deserved break. Sharp plans to treat his loyal companion to seaside adventures.

"He knows it's home," Sharp said fondly. "He knows it's time to relax."
