'I found an isolated and abandoned MORTUARY in the woodland'
Urban explorer climbs into abandoned mortuary in Scottish woodland to find coffins, chapel and body lockers left behind
A brave urban explorer has shared her discovery of rotting coffins, eerie fridge lockers and a cobweb-filled chapel in an abandoned mortuary.
Chloe Urbex, 23, came across the derelict building while map-surfing the area on a weekend away.
The property was abandoned years ago, due to its isolated location, and now lies empty, save for a few creepy items.
“We couldn’t not visit, so we climbed in through a window,” the urban explorer, from England, said.
“The mortuary itself had a very isolated atmosphere.
“It actually felt quite peaceful.
“The best thing we found inside was the untouched chapel where everything was left behind.”
Chloe shared a video of the mortuary to TikTok, where the post has gathered over 2,200 likes.
In the clips, which have been stitched together, a small, bungalow-like building can be seen sitting among woodland.
Inside, she shows the fridge lockers where bodies were held, as well as coffins which have been left to rot.
She also includes a clip of the chapel, where chairs can be seen stacked together.
You can still see the altar, a bible, a cross and a goblet, where the holy water would be held.
Users flocked to the comments to share their reactions.
Corey said: “Wow this is fire.”
Another fan added: “Top work Chlo-ster.”
Others left heart eye emojis and sad faces.
Chloe added: “I wouldn’t go back there, as it is quite far.
“But if I could I would, it was very peaceful.”
Chloe has discovered many other interesting places in the past.
She even stumbled across an abandoned Essex race track which had been ‘re-claimed’ by nature.
