A driver hit a scooter and dragged it along the road for 10 miles in India.

Video footage shows several motorists and police officers attempting to stop the driver of an SUV who had sped away with the motorcycle underneath the vehicle.

Local media reported that the car struck a parked scooter on the service road of the Agra-Kanpur highway in Kathfori village, Firozabad district, endangering the life of a young man who was on his way to buy vegetables.

The impact of the collision lodged the scooter under the car's axle, and the vehicle sped towards Etawah in an attempt to escape.

Despite the car's front wheels catching fire, the suspects continued driving for around 10 miles.

Police quickly dispatched teams to intercept the getaway car after receiving reports of the incident.

The chase ended when Jaswant Nagar police blocked the road near a flyover bridge close to the Jaswant Nagar warehouse.

Three suspects - Rahul from Samra village, Veerpal Singh, and Kaushlendra from Nagla Sita village -were apprehended and held at the Sirsaganj police station.

Inspector San Kumar confirmed that they were later turned over to the supervisor of the Baba Ki Shala police post.
