USA: Police Officer's Heroic Water Rescue Saves Unconscious Driver

The West Orange Police Department has recognized Officer Charles Cobb for his exceptional bravery and swift actions that saved a life on July 24, 2024. In an official statement released by the department, Officer Cobb was commended for his courageous response during a critical incident.
On the evening of July 24th, Officer Cobb was on traffic duty along S. Hwy 87 when he was approached by a young child in distress. The child reported that his mother had suffered a seizure, prompting Officer Cobb to investigate further. Upon reaching the scene, he discovered a vehicle partially submerged in water. Without hesitation, Officer Cobb entered the water and rescued the unconscious driver, Jonquetta Winbush, with the help of bystanders.
Initiating life-saving CPR immediately, Officer Cobb successfully revived Ms. Winbush, stabilizing her condition until EMS arrived. His quick thinking and decisive actions were credited with preventing a potentially tragic outcome.
In recognition of his heroic efforts, Officer Cobb has been awarded the Life-Saving Award by the West Orange Police Department. His dedication to duty and unwavering commitment to public safety exemplify the highest standards of law enforcement professionalism.
