This is the moment a hotel worker sleeping behind the bar slips past a huge brown bear that broke in searching for food and wakes him up.

The unusual incident was captured on CCTV footage at the hotel in Yanshiping Town, in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, on the early morning of August 5.

The bear easily entered the hotel by opening the front glass door with claws. Once inside, the animal spent more than 20 minutes scavenging for food, managing to climb on tables and push stools in its quest.

It even opened the refrigerator to consume rice and flour. It eventually made its way behind the bar where 19-year-old Xiao Zhang was sleeping.

Incredibly, the young man barely flinched when the wild bear woke him up, rummaging through the room just inches from him.

He quickly stoood up and quietly slipped away with his cell phone while a Coke bottle diverted the bear's attention at the end of the footage.

Later, when Xiao attempted to call the police for help, he found that the signal was unavailable due to the remote location.

The bear exited the hotel after he did; remarkably, no injuries were reported.

Following the incident, Xiao reported his experience to the police and shared a video of the encounter online.
