The Menorca Civil Guard has successfully rescued a family of five, including three minors and two adults, who were trapped in their vehicle in Alaior due to powerful flood currents triggered by Thursday's heavy rains. According to reports from the Civil Guard, the incident unfolded around 2:40 PM when they received a distress call about a vehicle submerged in water at the entrance of Alaior.

The vehicle was reportedly inundated with approximately 50 centimeters of water, rendering it unsafe to proceed. Swiftly responding to the emergency, officers managed to extract the family, confirming they are in good health.

This rescue underscores the perilous conditions caused by the torrential downpour that affected Alaior and other parts of Menorca, prompting heightened vigilance and emergency responses to safeguard residents amidst the ongoing severe weather.
