STORYLINE:
The Uzbek Senate has passed an Entrepreneurial Code at one of its plenary sessions to integrate relevant laws under a unified framework and optimize the country's business environment, said the press service of the Senate on Thursday.
To date, there are about 5,000 documents regulating entrepreneurial activity in the country. Due to the uncoordinated adoption of such a large number of documents, entrepreneurs face difficulties in finding requirements applicable to their business, according to local media.
The code establishes guarantees and conditions for the free participation and interest of individuals and legal entities in entrepreneurial activities, said Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms of the Senate Erkin Gadoev.
In a statement issued after the session, the Senate said that the code provides the unification of more than 100 legal documents. The primary goal is to regulate relations in the field of entrepreneurship.
